Toenails
The easiest way that I have found to clip the toenails is to hold the dog’s foot up behind him with the pad facing the ceiling...
Until you gain experience clipping toenails it is best to clip a little at a time. This technique is explained further in my book.
You should keep a coagulate handy in case you clip too short...
Using Your Clippers
While clipping your dog, your blades can get hot, so, check them often and use clipper coolant when needed. This section goes on to explain the direction to clip your dogs hair, the best way to hold your clippers and explains areas of your dog where you need to use caution while clipping.
Brushing
There are two schools of thought on brushing. Some dog groomers say that you should brush your pet after the bath. Some say you should brush your pet before the bath. This section goes on to explain my opinion and why I feel that way.
Q: How do I find a good dog groomer?
A: If I were looking for a good dog groomer I would call all the veternarians in my area and ask them who they recommend. I further explain why I would do this.
Q: How long should dog grooming take me?
A: Each person will be different, some taking more time and some taking less time to groom their dog. I would set aside two to three hours for the entire process.
